Small Claims Court
Small Claims Court representation
Ontario's Small Claims Court hears civil disputes worth up to $50,000: unpaid invoices, loans, deposits, damaged property, broken agreements. We help people and businesses on both sides of a claim.
If you are owed money, we look at whether a claim is worth bringing, who exactly to name, and what evidence you will need before anything is filed. If you have been served with a claim, time matters: a Defence has a short filing deadline, and missing it can lead to a default judgment.
Most cases go to a settlement conference before any trial. We prepare you for it, put realistic settlement terms in writing, and handle motions and trial preparation if the case goes further.
Winning a judgment and collecting it are two different steps. If payment does not follow, the same file moves into enforcement, which we also handle.

Related questions
Can you guarantee a result?
No one honestly can. Outcomes depend on the facts, the evidence, the law, the other side and the decision-maker. What we can do is explain your options clearly and represent you carefully.
How much will it cost?
It depends on the kind of matter, what needs to be done and at what stage. Services, fees and expected disbursements are confirmed in writing before any work begins.
What should I bring to a first consultation?
The notices, applications, claims or court papers you have, any agreement or lease, the messages exchanged with the other side, and the key dates. We will tell you if anything else is needed.
