Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario
Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario
The Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario decides claims of discrimination and harassment under the Human Rights Code, in areas such as employment, housing and services. We act for people bringing a claim and for those responding to one.
Timing matters. Applications generally have to be filed within one year of the last incident, and respondents have a set time to file a response.
We assess the facts against the Code, prepare the application or response, and organize the documents and witnesses. Many matters are resolved through Tribunal mediation; others proceed to a hearing, where we represent you.

Can you guarantee a result?
No one honestly can. Outcomes depend on the facts, the evidence, the law, the other side and the decision-maker. What we can do is explain your options clearly and represent you carefully.
What should I bring to a first consultation?
The notices, applications, claims or court papers you have, any agreement or lease, the messages exchanged with the other side, and the key dates. We will tell you if anything else is needed.
